✧ On December 6, 2016, my fantasy novel Bear Daughter is being re-released in e-book form, through Book View Café and other retail outlets. A new print edition will follow in 2017.
Bear Daughter, a Crawford Award finalist, was first published by Ace Books in 2005. Here’s more about the book, including a sample chapter.
✧ Lightspeed Magazine is reprinting my novella “Awakening” in its January 2016 e-book issue, together with an author interview. “Awakening,” originally published in Black Gate 10, was a finalist for the 2007 Nebula Award. It’s about a woman waking among the dead in a haunted city. In her review in Tangent Online, Sherwood Smith wrote, “This story calls to mind fantasies of eighty and a hundred years ago, full of the crumbling remains of ancient civilizations and old rituals that evoked that fin-de-siecle sense of the world’s end….This is a terrific story, beautifully realized and intelligently written.”
